In the Lions rebrand project, I drew inspiration from the rich history of the NFL franchise, particularly referencing their iconic mark from the 1970s. The challenge was to infuse a modern and athletic aggressiveness into the design. The new mark pays homage to the franchise's roots while embodying a contemporary edge. Additionally, I introduced a modern black letter wordmark, marrying tradition with a bold and current aesthetic. This rebrand aims to resonate with both longtime fans, invoking nostalgia, and newer audiences, capturing the team's dynamic and forward-looking spirit.
